A High-Energy Wedding at Crossing Vineyards and Winery | Mia & Jake
On September 12, 2026, Mia and Jake celebrated their wedding at Crossing Vineyards and Winery with nearly 200 of their closest friends and family. From their ceremony overlooking the vineyard to a packed reception dance floor and a late-night after-party inside the distillery, the entire day was designed around one thing: creating an experience that felt completely like them.
As the DJ for their Crossing Vineyards wedding, we provided sound coverage throughout the entire celebration, including the outdoor ceremony, cocktail hour, reception, and after-party, along with wash and effect lighting to transform the atmosphere once the party moved into the distillery.

An Outdoor Wedding Ceremony in the Vineyard
The day began with Mia and Jake’s ceremony outdoors among the vineyards at Crossing Vineyards and Winery in Newtown, Pennsylvania.
Following the ceremony, guests remained outside for cocktail hour before heading into the reception.
Building a Dance Floor Around Mia & Jake
Mia and Jake gave us plenty of freedom with the music, but their preferences made one thing very clear: they wanted a fun, energetic dance floor without relying on the typical line dances.
Their requests crossed decades and genres, with songs like “Boogie Shoes,” “I Wanna Dance With Somebody,” “You Shook Me All Night Long,” and “Don’t Stop Me Now” alongside newer and higher-energy selections from Icona Pop, Otto Knows, Sean Paul, ENUR, and more.
Instead of treating that list like a playlist to work through, we used it as a roadmap for the type of party they wanted.
The result was a reception that brought every generation onto the dance floor.
From their friends singing along to seemingly every song to Mia sharing the floor with her grandfather, this was one of those crowds where the energy never depended on a particular genre or age group. The common denominator was simply playing the right record at the right moment and allowing the night to keep building naturally.
With the reception taking place outdoors, we also had venue sound requirements to work within. Our sound system and coverage were planned accordingly, allowing us to maintain the energy on the dance floor while remaining mindful of the venue’s sound ordinance throughout the evening.
A Surprise Performance in the Middle of the Party
One of the night’s most memorable moments came right in the middle of open dancing when one of Mia and Jake’s close friends took over the microphone for a live performance of “Tennessee Whiskey.”
Rather than feeling like a break from the party, it became part of it — giving Mia and Jake a personal moment surrounded by the same friends and family who had been filling the dance floor all night.
From there, we brought everyone right back into dancing and continued building toward the end of the reception.
The main reception ultimately wrapped with “Dog Days Are Over,” giving the entire room one final opportunity to sing together before the celebration moved into its next phase.
From Wedding Reception to a Two-Hour Distillery After-Party
Mia and Jake had planned a full two-hour after-party inside the distillery at Crossing Vineyards, which gave us an opportunity to completely shift the musical direction.
The reception was designed for all 200 guests. The after-party could be much more specifically about Mia, Jake and their friends.
With the couple having been in college around 2016, we leaned heavily into the music connected to that era of their lives — throwback hip-hop, EDM, college anthems and high-energy favorites that immediately resonated with their group.
Tracks and influences like “Calabria 2008,” “Temperature,” “Million Voices,” “Everytime We Touch” and other familiar throwbacks helped create a second distinct chapter of the night rather than simply extending the reception for another two hours.
We also added wash and effect lighting inside the distillery to give the after-party its own atmosphere and make the transition feel intentional.
After an entire day of celebrating, the final song of the after-party was “Courtesy of the Red, White and Blue” — a fittingly unexpected ending to a wedding that never felt predictable.
Creating a Wedding That Felt Like Them
What stood out most about Mia and Jake’s wedding wasn’t one particular song or moment. It was how involved their guests were from beginning to end.
There were grandparents dancing, friends singing at the top of their lungs, a live serenade in the middle of the party, and a group that still had plenty left for another two hours once the reception ended.
For us, that’s exactly why the music at every wedding should be approached differently.
The goal isn’t to arrive with a predetermined wedding playlist. It’s to understand what the couple loves, read the people actually standing in front of us, and use both to build the night in real time.
Mia and Jake gave us the direction. Their friends and family gave us the energy. Our job was to bring the two together.
And at Crossing Vineyards and Winery, that resulted in a dance floor that stayed packed all night — and an after-party that gave their closest friends the perfect way to finish it.
