Some weddings are worth traveling for — and Madsy and Seth’s wedding at New Albany Country Club in New Albany, Ohio was absolutely one of them.
We made the trip from New Jersey to Ohio for an unforgettable Greek-American wedding filled with incredible energy, a packed dance floor, live saxophone, and a crowd that came ready to celebrate from the very beginning.
As a wedding DJ who travels throughout the country, every celebration brings something different. For Madsy and Seth, the goal was to create a night that felt sophisticated and elevated while still delivering the kind of high-energy wedding atmosphere that keeps guests on the dance floor all night.
A Destination Wedding DJ Experience — From New Jersey to Ohio
While I’m based in New Jersey and perform throughout NJ, New York, and Pennsylvania, some of my favorite celebrations have taken me well beyond the Northeast.
For Madsy and Seth, that meant traveling to the beautiful New Albany Country Club, just outside Columbus, Ohio.
Travel weddings require a little more planning behind the scenes, but the philosophy never changes: understand the couple, understand their guests, and create a celebration that feels uniquely theirs.
From the formalities through the final songs of the night, this was a wedding built around one thing — energy.
A Greek-American Wedding With an Incredible Dance Floor
Greek-American weddings have always been a big part of what I do, and they’re some of my favorite celebrations to DJ.
The key isn’t simply knowing Greek music. It’s understanding when and how to incorporate it into a modern American wedding reception while keeping the entire room engaged.
Madsy and Seth’s wedding brought together guests with different musical tastes and generations, so the soundtrack evolved throughout the night. Greek selections blended alongside familiar favorites, throwbacks, current music, and high-energy dance tracks, allowing the celebration to move naturally without ever feeling like separate blocks of music.
That balance is a huge part of the experience I try to create at every wedding: no cookie-cutter playlist and no predetermined formula.
Instead, I take the time to understand the couple’s vision, as well as constantly reading the room, mixing live, and adjusting in real time based on what’s happening on the dance floor.
And this crowd gave us plenty to work with.
Live Sax Meets the Dance Floor
One of the highlights of the reception was the addition of an incredible Anthony, our live saxophonist, who brought another level of energy directly onto the dance floor.
While the saxophonist was arranged separately by the couple, incorporating live sax into portions of the DJ set created some incredible moments throughout the night.
Having that live element interacting directly with Madsy, Seth, and their guests made an already energetic dance floor feel even more immersive.
Lighting Designed for Energy — Without Taking Over the Room
New Albany Country Club already provided a beautiful setting, so the goal with our lighting was to complement the space rather than overwhelm it.
For the reception, we provided four moving head fixtures along with six pixel tubes, giving us the ability to create movement, color, and atmosphere throughout the night.
The moving heads helped bring additional excitement to the dance floor as the party progressed, while the pixel tubes added a modern visual element and soft ambient wash around the entertainment area.
The result was exactly what we wanted: a setup that looked polished and sophisticated during the earlier portions of the reception but could transform with the energy of the room once the dance floor opened.
Our Glam Black & White Photo Booth
Madsy and Seth also added our Glam Black & White Photo Booth to their wedding experience.
Our Glam Booth creates clean, editorial-style black-and-white portraits that fit perfectly into the aesthetic of an upscale wedding. It gave guests another experience to enjoy throughout the reception while still complementing the overall look and feel of the celebration.
Between the DJ entertainment, lighting, Glam Photo Booth, and live saxophone, there was always something happening — without the wedding ever feeling overproduced.
An Unforgettable Night at New Albany Country Club
By the end of the night, this was exactly the type of wedding I love being part of.
A beautiful venue. A couple who trusted the process. A room full of guests ready to celebrate. And a dance floor that brought incredible energy from start to finish.
Traveling from New Jersey to Ohio made this one even more memorable, and I’m grateful Madsy and Seth trusted me to be part of such an important day.
